It’s been a while since my last update, but that’s because I’ve made significant progress. The story is fully fleshed out, and now I’m just adding final details (lore). I’ve also brought a few more models on board and found some great locations in Scotland, including some old castle ruins. We’re planning to shoot there guerrilla-style, but we’ll be respectful of the space. Right now, the timeline is looking like 2028, maybe 2027 if everything lines up perfectly. I expect to shoot at least three scenes next year, specifically the first chapter because that chapter is finished. I’ll be up north in the redwoods, I plan on taking a camping trip soon to scout for locations.
Back in May, I also did a test shoot in New York with my friend Brit. I wanted to see how chainmail would translate onto film, both in texture and tone. It was a quick, focused shoot more of a proof of concept but it gave me exactly what I needed. I’ve attached a few sample shots below.

The biggest update: I recently purchased a Mamiya RB67 with an adapter that lets me shoot pack film on both halves, effectively doubling my shots per pack and giving me more flexibility with lenses. This is a huge improvement over the passport cameras I mentioned before, which were limited by only having two focal lengths. Now, with the ability to swap lenses, I have a lot more creative freedom, and I’m excited about how this will elevate the book’s visual quality. I want to thank my friend Nick for giving me a heads up about this adapter, he knew I was I was searching for one and these don’t pop up very often. I’m extremely fortunate. Testing it out has been a success, and I’m confident this will bring the quality I’m aiming for. I’m very excited
